EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Crews are struggling to clear a large logjam threatening a Highway 2 bridge.

The eastbound lane is set to stay closed through Thursday morning.

Tuesday’s floodwaters sent logs speeding down the Snohomish River, and now they are clogging the waterway near Highway 2.

KOMO reports that the floating tree trunks are putting pressure on the pilings that hold up the roadway.

Crews from WSDOT are working to clear out the logs before they cause any significant damage.
