BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A woman injured earlier this month in a hit-and-run at a Custer rest stop has died.

The State Patrol still hasn’t found the driver responsible.

Troopers say 68-year-old Cynthia Stitt of Marysville was standing in the rest area parking lot of southbound I-5 at about 3:30 in the afternoon when a vehicle hit her and left the scene.

She later died in the hospital.

The vehicle suspected in the October 4th incident is described as a red or orange sedan, possibly a Chrysler 300 or Dodge Charger.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the detective on the case.
