BELLINGHAM, Wash. — More rain in the forecast could mean hazardous conditions on local roadways.
Bellingham Emergency Manager Lynn Sterbenz said drivers may be tempted to go through floodwater because it seems shallow, but she says it may be a lot deeper than they think.
She says there could be a wire down or debris on the road, so its safer to never drive through floodwater.
You can help prevent flooding by clearing leaves and debris from storm drains near your property, which is required for homeowners in Bellingham.
