SEATAC, Wash. — The King County Sheriff is calling the dramatic robbery last month at a SeaTac restaurant a “deliberate hoax.”
Sheriff Mitzi Johanknecht says the incident was orchestrated as a means to obtain a visa to stay in the United States.
KOMO News reports that employees at Bob’s Burger & Teriyaki said that two Samoan men, one with a handgun, tied up employees, sexually assaulted two women, and robbed the restaurant around 9:15pm on October 19.
The current investigation is considering charges for false reporting, but the sheriff said additional charges may be pursued.
