LYNDEN, Wash. — The community is reaching out to a Lynden family that has suffered the loss of a father and now a young son.
Friends and family set up a GoFundMe page for the Cowen family after Kurt Cowen committed suicide in 2018.
He suffered from PTSD after being deployed to Iraq as a member of the Army National Guard.
His wife Renee was left to raise their four sons on her own.
One of the boys is autistic and she also suffers from serious health issues.
And last Thursday,November 21, their youngest son died suddenly at age 14.
