BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Parkview Elementary School’s 4th and 5th grade students recently participated in an opportunity to make homemade bread and donate it to a local organization serving those in need.

Students participating in the Bake For Good Challenge were shown how to make a variety of breads, from cinnamon rolls to braided loaves, and were provided with a bread baking kit to take home and make a donation loaf.

Assistant Principal Michelle Hess says it was a great experience for the students and their families.

Over 50 loaves of fresh bread were donated to Ground Floor, a program that provides winter shelter for homeless youth.
