FERNDALE, Wash. — A Ferndale Police Lieutenant was charged with vehicular assault.
In April, Lieutenant William Hatchett allegedly ran a red light in an unmarked police car at the intersection of Main Street and Joe Moser Lane in Ferndale when he hit another vehicle.
The woman in the vehicle he hit was severely injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center.
City of Ferndale Communications Officer Riley Sweeney says Hatchett is on administrative leave as he awaits due process by the courts.
