BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Downtown Bellingham will be congested around midday today (Friday) by a youth climate action.

People taking part in the Bellingham Climate Strike will meet at City Hall at 11 a.m. then march through downtown at 11:45.

They’ll hold a rally at Depot Market Square with speakers and music beginning at 1 p.m.

Bellingham Schools say they’re operating on a normal schedule and are asking students to not miss school for the event.

But they hope families will discuss the issue with their students and call schools to excuse any who plan to miss classes.
