LYNDEN, Wash. — A Lynden child is one of 39 Washington children of fallen military heroes going to a 5-day retreat at Disney World.
The Gary Sinise Foundation’s Snowball Express focuses on the children but is a therapeutic retreat meant to help heal the whole family of fallen military members by offering fun and inspiring programs and provides access to services they may need.
Saturday, 39 Washington children will join others across the country as they’re chartered to Disney World.
Snowball Express was started after a soldier wrote his wife a letter in 2006 meant to be delivered upon his death that, among other things, said he wished they had gone to Disneyland.
