BELLINGHAM, Wash. — After rape allegations, a local food delivery driver is out of a job.
Bellingham delivery service, Viking Food, said Tuesday they suspended driver Chris Vredevoogt’s contract once they became aware of rape allegations against him.
They performed background checks and found no record of criminal activity, so they resumed his contract.
Community backlash led them to make a new statement on Facebook Thursday saying Vredevoogt would no longer be driving with them.
Owner Kyle Mattox says they’re willing to do what it takes to make things right.
Viking Food owners will be trained by anti-sexual violence organization DVSAS to learn how to better handle such situations in the future.
