OLYMPIA, Wash. — An inmate at the Nisqually jail died unexpectedly over the weekend.
Coroner Gary Warnock identified him as 28-year-old Joseph Cagey of Bellingham.
Battalion Chief Steve Crimmins told The Olympian that Lacey Fire District 3 was one of the agencies that responded to a call about an unconscious man at the jail Saturday morning.
He said jail staff were performing CPR when crews arrived and transported the man to St. Peter Hospital in Olympia where he eventually died.
