BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Mount Vernon man is accused of knocking another man unconscious outside a nightclub in downtown Bellingham after the two had an altercation.
Bellingham police responded to a report of an assault in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street just before 2 AM last Saturday and arrived to find the victim lying unconscious on the ground outside a nightclub with the suspect nowhere in sight.
According to Lieutenant Claudia Murphy, witnesses told police there had been a fight outside and security footage showed a man, later identified as 21-year-old Drake Michael, punching the victim and walking away.
Police located Michael in his car later that night and took him into custody.
