BURLINGTON, Wash. — A Burlington man died in a train crash while trying to elude troopers Friday afternoon.
The Washington State Patrol says Skagit County Sheriff’s deputies were trying to pull over 36-year-old Christopher Brock for traffic violations, when he made a sudden turn off Highway 20 onto Garrett Road in Burlington.
His car crashed into a train at the crossing there and then was dragged for another mile while the train slowed down.
The car ended up catching fire and Brock was pronounced dead at the scene.
