BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham School District is working out next steps following the death of Lynn Heimsoth.
Superintendent Doctor Greg Baker says the current dean at Sunnyland Elementary, Amy Barreth, will be the interim principal and Brian Pahl, a long-time staff member, will step in as dean.
Support will be in place for students and staff when they return from the winter break.
Baker also addressed domestic violence in his message to the schools and parents, noting the importance of discussing these issues with children.
He will send a letter to parents later this week with more information on their plan for the return to school.
