MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A former Mount Vernon baseball coach was inducted into the school’s newly-established Coaches Hall of Fame.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports the induction of coach Bill McCutchin was marked by a ceremony at halftime of a Bulldogs’ basketball game on January 17.
The 85-year-old said he was so excited afterward, he couldn’t sleep.
McCutchin was a multi-sport athlete at Mount Vernon before he embarked on a coaching career that included two state baseball titles before his retirement in 1993.
