BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom Emergency Management is still assessing damage from the so-called “Super Bowl Flood.”

John Gargett says 100 to 120 homes sustained significant damage over the weekend.

Most of those were in Sumas where some homes were still flooded while assessments were being done Monday.

He says it’s too early to make formal requests for assistance from government agencies.

Gargett also reminds drivers to stay off flooded roads as they had to make a water rescue again Monday night.

To report flood damage, call 360-778-5311.
