BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The former Clean Green site in Bellingham could be the new temporary home for a tiny homes encampment.

Homeless advocacy group HomesNow! currently runs the facility in Fairhaven but Mayor Seth Fleetwood says the permit for that site expires in April.

He says there will be a review process for the new site at Lakeway and Woburn, including notification of neighboring homeowners and public comment.

And it would be well regulated with on-site staff, drug and alcohol restrictions, access to public services and more.

He expects the permitting process to get underway in a couple of weeks.
