TACOMA, Wash. — A Tacoma man caught texting on a plane about molesting children was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
58-year-old Michael Kellar and his girlfriend Gail Burnworth were arrested in August 2017 after an alert passenger noticed disturbing texts between Kellar and Burnworth.
An investigation revealed the two had produced and shared sexually explicit images of children placed in Burnworth’s care.
A review of the couples’ electronic devices yielded graphic explicit exchanges between the two with Burnworth discussing drugging and raping the children in her care.
Burnworth pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography and will be sentenced in March.
