BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Bellingham man is suspected of threatening a man while brandishing a knife at a local park.
Bellingham Police Lieutenant Claudia Murphy says the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Brandon Pickett, made racially derogatory comments towards the victim while holding a knife at Squalicum Creek Park on Monday afternoon.
Then he allegedly drove his SUV directly at the victim and nearly ran him over.
Murphy says Pickett sped away from the scene and was contacted by police nearby who took him into custody on suspicion of assault and felony harassment.
