Ferndale’s poverty task force to present its findings

FERNDALE, Wash. — The City of Ferndale is taking steps to address poverty and homelessness in their community.

Ferndale Communications Officer Riley Sweeney says The North Whatcom Poverty Task Force has taken a year to examine many factors affecting those living in poverty.

The group formed by the Ferndale City Council will present its recommendations to the council at Monday’s meeting.

Their central recommendation is to put an affordable housing levy on the November 2020 ballot.
