BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Whatcom County Health Department stresses that there are no cases of COVID-19 or local residents being tested for the coronavirus at this time.
But Health Officer Dr. Greg Stern says the risk is increasing and they believe we are in the early stages of what will likely be a wider spread of the illness.
The department reminds everyone to practice good hygiene, keep homes and workplaces clean and stay home if you are sick
Also make plans to care for ill family members, discuss sick leave and ways to telecommute with employers, be ready to help neighbors and stay informed.
The health department will hold meetings with elected and school officials, heatlhcare providers and others on Monday to help plan how to best coordinate responses to the virus.
