We have nine Whatcom County high school basketball teams getting ready for state tournament play this week. Action begins Wednesday with 3 games on KPUG from the Yakima Sundome. The Meridian boys play Bellevue Christian at 12:15. The Meridian girls face Annie Wright at 5:30 and the Nooksack Valley girls take on Zillah at 9 PM. All 3 of those games are loser-out contests.
The Lynden boys and girls and the Lynden Christian boys and girls will all play Thursday against as-yet-unknown opponents. The Lynden girls play at 10:30 AM, The LC boys at 12:15, the Lynden boys at 5:30 and the LC girls at 9 PM.
At Class 1B state in Spokane the Lummi girls play Oakesdale Wednesday at 3:45 in a loser-out game. The Lummi boys play Thursday at 12:15.
