BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Local transit companies are ramping up cleaning efforts.

Whatcom Transportation Authority said on social media that they are taking their cues regarding COVID-19 from the Whatcom County Health Department.

WTA says that they’re taking measures to disinfect and sanitize buses every night, paying extra attention to surfaces that people touch with their hands.

A spokesperson for the Bellingham International Airport told the Bellingham Herald they increased their cleaning activity in common areas like water fountains and fill stations and they added more hand sanitizer stations and increased inspections.
