BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Amid coronavirus concerns, Western Washington University has cancelled their winter graduation ceremony.

WWU’s Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services announced that the commencement celebration scheduled for March 21st will not go on, and they will begin canceling all large-scale events on the Bellingham campus for the next three weeks.

Winter graduates will instead be included in Western’s Spring Commencement celebration in June.

The university says they do not plan to cancel classes or suspend operations at this time.

A spokesperson from Bellingham Technical College tells KGMI they are implementing processes to allow employees to work remotely when possible to reduce and slow the spread of the virus.
