Health Department asks organizations to help minimize risk of spreading coronavirus

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Whatcom County Health Department is asking organizations to consider ways to minimize the risk of spreading infection.

The department is not recommending any specific closures or event cancellations at this time.

That decision should be made by each individual organization.

The health department says Whatcom County residents should not go to the emergency room unless essential and they should stay home and avoid contact with others, including pets, if sick with mild illness.

Call your healthcare provider if you experience symptoms like cough, fever, or other respiratory problems.
