Western Washington University construction worker tests positive for COVID-19

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Health officials have confirmed the first case of COVID-19 on Western Washington University’s Bellingham campus.

The university says that late Thursday, 3/13/2020, they learned that a contracted construction worker working on the site of a new residence hall tested positive for the disease.

WWU says the worker lives in Snohomish County and had been commuting to Bellingham to work at the site.

The worker is now in self-isolation and work at the WWU site has been put on hold.
