BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The City says the decision supports governor’s directive to close public gathering places to control the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.
City facility closures include all sponsored and permitted events, programs and activities, as well as the Bellingham Public Library, the Whatcom Museum, and a list of parks facilities that can be found on the city website.
All parks and trails will remain open to the public, with public restrooms in City parks, open, cleaned and maintained.
Meantime, The Whatcom County Health Department is reporting a second lab confirmed case of the virus in a Whatcom County resident.
The case is a woman in her 40s who self-isolated after being notified that she was a close contact of a lab-confirmed positive case from another county.
