WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Governor Jay Inslee has ordered the closure of all schools in Washington state over coronavirus concerns.
Schools in Whatcom county will close on Monday, March 16, except Ferndale schools which will close on Tuesday, March 17th.
Local school districts say they’re working hard to plan and communicate how they’ll move forward in what they’re calling an unprecedented situation.
The districts also provide services beyond education like childcare and nutrition, and they ask that families regularly check their websites for the latest information.
Scheduling for graduation and other events is also being worked out and no decisions have been made at this point.
