BELLINGHAM, Wash. — In response to COVID-19, Comcast is offering free internet as schools suspend classes and companies encourage employees to work from home.

The company is offering its Xfinity WiFi Network nationally with free hotspots for everyone.

Local Comcast Community Outreach Coordinator Vincent Buys says many hotspots are available locally.

Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots, and then launch a browser.

Buys says existing Comcast users should use their regular name and password, while non-customers should click the login button and accept the terms of use on the confirmation page to get online.

Comcast is also offering free internet service with no contract agreement for 60 days for new customers.

Current customers who are having difficulty paying their bill are getting a break on late fees.
