BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Philanthropic organizations in Whatcom County are busy raising funds for those impacted by COVID-19.
The Chuckanut Health Foundation, United Way of Whatcom County, Lhaq’temish Foundation, and the Whatcom Community Foundation are mobilizing philanthropic resources in response to the pandemic.
A release from United Way says funds will help ensure that people, especially those experiencing racism, homelessness, financial distress, and other barriers to health and wellness, can get the essential support they need.
Mauri Ingram, CEO of the Whatcom Community Foundation, says they are optimistic because, in general, the people of Whatcom County are generous, neighborly problem solvers.
