WASHINGTON, D.C. — The hotel industry is reeling from the impact of the coronavirus.

A report from the American Hotel and Lodging Association estimates nationwide over 3 million hotel-related jobs have been lost in response to COVID-19 so far.

The report says nearly 80,000 of those job losses are in Washington.

AHLA president and CEO Chip Rogers says the impact is already more severe than anything they have seen before, including September 11th and the 2008 recession combined.
