The Whatcom County Health Department reports that both patients were either current or previous residents at assisted living facilities.
One, a woman in her 90s, was a resident at Shuksan Health Center who passed away at the facility.
The other, a man in his 90s, was previously a resident at Summit Place Assisted Living in Bellingham and he died while being treated for the illness in the hospital.
The total of COVID-19 related deaths in the county is now 4.
The Whatcom County Health Department says it has also identified a number of confirmed cases in what it says is a “small number” of other long term care centers in the county. It hasn’t identified those other facilities.
