OLYMPIA, Wash. — As testing increases in the state, health agencies are having trouble keeping up with reporting.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Whatcom County as reported by the health department are currently at 86 with the number of deaths reaching 4.
But the number of negative test results is at 336 — a number that hasn’t been updated since Tuesday.
This stems from technical difficulties at the Washington State DOH that have prevented them from posting some statewide results.
The DOH says that their database is experiencing a slowdown because of a 10-fold increase in the number of lab reports received.
The state is currently reporting 147 COVID-19 related deaths and more than 3200 confirmed cases.
