BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Leave your reusable bags at home the next time you head to the grocery store.
Bellingham Mayor Seth Fleetwood has temporarily suspended enforcement of the City’s plastic bag ban to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The ban will be suspended for one year or until the proclamation of local emergency that he issued earlier this month is revoked, whichever occurs first.
During this time, retailers may distribute single-use plastic bags, waive the fee for paper bags, or both.
