SEATTLE, Wash. — Kroger, which owns QFC and Fred Meyer, announced what it calls a “hero bonus” for employees working during the outbreak.

Fred Meyer’s president tells KOMO, “Our associates have displayed the true actions of a hero,” and the company wanted to convey its “thanks and gratitude.”

All workers, including those in the supply chain, manufacturing, pharmacy and call center will get an addition $2 added to their base hourly pay for hours they work between March 29 and April 13.

Bonuses will be handed out weekly.

This is separate from the one-time bonus given to frontline grocery workers March 21st.
