BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Chief of Staff at Peacehealth St. Joseph Medical Center is speaking out following the dismissal of a doctor who was critical of the hospital’s coronavirus response.
Dr. Anna Dowling says she doesn’t want her staff’s achievements “overshadowed by the opinions of a single physician.”
A staffing company contracted by Peacehealth let Dr. Ming Lin go on Friday after he repeatedly claimed the hospital wasn’t properly protecting staff, patients and visitors.
But Dr. Dowling has released a statement touting long hours and extensive preparations made by personnel including medical staff, office, physical plant, food service and environmental workers.
She says she has no doubt that Peacehealth and the greater medical community is prepared for what’s expected to be an increasing number of patients.
