WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. — A helicopter search-and-rescue crew rescued a 61-year-old man near Mount Baker yesterday (wed).

Snowmobilers had discovered the man suffering from hypothermia at 8am and called for assistance.

Clouds, rain, and snow forced the SAR crew from Naval Air Station Whidbey to fly low, through the Nooksack River Valley to Glacier.

They successfully transported the man to Peacehealth St. Joseph’s in Bellingham by 11am.
