BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham’s Motel 6 location is becoming a COVID-19 isolation and quarantine facility.
On the recommendation of Whatcom Unified Command, County Executive Satpal Sidhu signed a contract to make the deal with the owners of the currently vacant motel, located on Byron Avenue in Bellingham.
WUC says the setting is ideal for use as an isolation and quarantine facility because each unit has a separate entrance and their own bathrooms and beds.
It will be operated by partner agencies, which will provide meals, laundry, and janitorial services and the plan is to get it open next week.
