BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The City of Bellingham purchased a 29-acre property for a future northside park and trails.

It’s located in the Bakerview/Telegraph corridor and the city used $2.3 million in Greenway levy funds to buy it.

The city says the area will provide critical connectivity to existing and future trails and nearby park property while providing ample area for a park and wooded trail.

A public process to help design and plan the future of the acreage will involve multiple phases over many years.

For now, it becomes part of the legacy Greenway Program acquisition and will be maintained by parks staff.
