BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County’s response to COVID-19 is being strengthened by generous community members.
Whatcom Unified Command says since early March, local organizations and community members have been working to provide essential personal protective equipment, or PPE, to healthcare workers and first responders throughout the county.
In one month, over 50,000 gloves and more than 17,000 isolation gowns have been collected and distributed.
Unified Command says they have distributed supplies to over 85 organizations serving Whatcom County residents so far.
