BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Divers recovered the body of a Bellingham man who drowned in Toad Lake Monday night.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to reports of a capsized boat and people in the water at about 9:30 p.m.
Some residents had launched their own boats and rescued a woman who said a man with her had gone under the water.
An initial search was unsuccessful but divers using sonar were able to locate the man’s body early yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.
The Medical Examiner idenifies the victim as 28-year-old Evan Sobjack.
