BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Our local business community is reeling from the impact of COVID-19, but with the government’s help, they believe they can bounce back.
The Whatcom Business Alliance surveyed more than 170 businesses in Whatcom County to determine how the pandemic has impacted them.
They found more than half have had to significantly cut services, more than 40% have had to lay off workers and 20% had to close completely.
But president Tony Larson says most think they’ll weather the storm.
And he said many owners offered productive ideas on how to get back to business safely.
A full report on the data will be available on the WBA website Friday.
