For second day in a row, no new COVID-19 deaths in county

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — For the second day in a row, the Whatcom County Health Department is reporting zero new COVID-19 related deaths.

The county death toll remains at 25.

Earlier this week the health department shared details about a modeling tool that shows some scenarios of how the spread of the virus will play out locally.

The model suggests the number of people infected in Whatcom County has likely reached a first peak, showing the community’s efforts have been working thus far.

If social distancing efforts continue, the model shows the number could keep declining.
