BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Whatcom County Health Department is urging residents to continue social distancing measures even as confirmed COVID-19 cases decline.
Director Erika Lautenbach says “stay home stay healthy” has helped bring those numbers down, but she and other health officials worry that’s brought on less of a perceived risk.
She urges people to not drop their guard and to maintain social distancing and good hygiene to help prevent a second wave of infections.
Lautenbach says the task force the department is assembling will work with businesses to help maintain healthy environments as more of the economy opens.
