BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Time is running out for Whatcom County residents to prepare for the rapidly approaching wildfire season.
Whatcom County Executive Satpal Sidhu has proclaimed May as Wildfire Awareness Month.
In support, the Whatcom Conservation District will be sharing information on wildfire preparedness on their website and Facebook page on what they’re calling “Wildfire Wednesdays.”
They’re also supporting a COVID-19-Safe Fuels Reduction project in the Columbia Valley community this Saturday where a roving chipper will come by to turn your brush pile into mulch to provide an alternative to burning them.
