BLAINE, Wash. — BP Cherry Point is donating fuel to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company announced that jet fuel from the Whatcom County refinery will be delivered to the Sea-Tac airport to supply Alaska Airlines who is stepping up to restore air service to several remote Alaska communities who were cut off after a local carrier declared bankruptcy.

Donated fuel will help Alaska Airlines support the supply chain by delivering food, medical supplies, mail and emergency passenger services.

BP will also be donating fuel from its Indiana refinery to FedEx, who will use it to deliver critical medical supplies to and from the U.S.
