BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Local health officials are busy responding to the COVID-19 crisis, but that’s not preventing them from providing other essential services.

The offices at the Whatcom County Health Department are temporarily closed to visitors to prevent the spread of the virus, so rather than visiting them, residents can head to their website or give them a call.

Residents can still obtain birth certificates and food worker cards, and specialists are still providing Veteran’s Services and virtual visits for first time, low-income moms.

And they are still committed to investigating other communicable diseases, like the flu and hepatitis C.
