BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The governor of Georgia signed an executive order allowing new teen drivers to get a license without taking a road test amid the coronavirus pandemic, but that’s not happening here.

Bellingham Schools Traffic Safety Educator Stu Soderquist says they’ve been conducting the classroom part of drivers-ed remotely, but there’s no substitute for the experience of actually driving a car.

He says they’ll get students behind the wheel as soon as restrictions are lifted.

But until then, current students’ driving dreams are on hold.
