BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The county courthouse is adopting measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Whatcom County Superior Court Judge Deborra Garrett issued an administrative order requiring people in public areas of the courthouse, including courtrooms and restrooms, to wear an appropriate mask or face covering that covers the wearer’s nose and mouth.

In addition, people using the courthouse must remain six feet away from others at all times unless they are living together, and they must wash their hands before entering a courtroom.

The order goes into effect on May 11.
