SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) — Seattle is permanently closing nearly 20 miles of city streets to most vehicles.
The Seattle Times reports the streets had been temporarily closed to provide more space for people to walk and bike while maintaining social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.
The DOT will replace the temporary closure signs on the streets with permanent markings by the end of May.
Residents, delivery drivers, garbage workers and emergency response vehicles will still be allowed.
